Trying to find a Chedotal

We are trying to find my husbands cousin Margaret - she is the daughter of Marie Chedotal, and was born approx 1950 and may have lived in the Queensferry, Deeside area. Her house name may have been 'Rose Cottage' ....... Margaret was adopted shortly after being born so may never have even used the surname Chedotal ......

Welcome to the boards, Sally.

I don't see the birth , marriage, or death of any Margaret Chedotal in Scotland, England, or Wales, at any time.

Roughly when do you think she may have lived in Queensferry or Deeside?

EDIT: I thought you meant Scotland, but have just realised you mean Queensferry, Deeside, Flintshire, Wales.

There is a Rose Cottage in Hawarden, Deeside - no sales history per Zoopla.
Also one in Mancot, Deeside - again no sales history.
Another in Aston,Deeside, last sold in 1999.

If she was adopted, her name was almost certainly changed.

Birth in 1923 of a Marie L Chedotal on freebmd. MMN O’Neill. Is that the mother? She seems to have a number of siblings

No record of a Margaret Chedotal birth

Marie may have married in Liverpool in 1975 - but that's no help re Margaret.

There's no Chedotal/Chedotal birth of any first name c1950.
The nearest is in 1943 in Birkenhead - but not named Margaret.

Kay????

Try 1941 ==Chedstal===mmn Chedotal probally a spelling mistake.

Not in any GR trees.

Put her in yours, so that anyone who knows her currently (and knows her birth name) can make contact if they happen to be GR members.

Your husband could register with the Adoption Contact Register:

https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

(At least, I think a cousin counts as a blood relative.)

Then if Margaret also happens to be registered, or does so in the future, he may be put in touch with her.

It's a gamble, but he might consider it worth the £30 fee.
