Find Ancestors

I have Georgia Ella Hart 24 Apr 1909, Nevada County, California,USA. to 14 Nov 1989,Oroville,Butte,California,USA.

Georgia had 4 partners/husbands.

Please can you advise me the best way to find the marriages, if they were married.

I have been told that she did marry Max Isaac appx 1935/1936 and also Donald Stover in about 1925.

I do have Ancestry Worldwide, but am getting in a bit of a muddle, there are also a lot of children belonging to Georgia but I cant work out which children went with which partner, some will belong to other wife's and partners.

My question is please; how do I look for USA marriages and births?

I suspect there is not an easy answer to this.

I saw that divorce entry, but figured it could not be them as they were both dead by 1999.

She is stated as married on the census's.

That doesn't mean she actually was married, of course. She wouldn't have had to prove it for census purposes.

I can't see any marriage for Georgia, nor for any of the " husbands".

There's another biography linked to her Findagrave record on Ancestry, which I can't copy/paste. It says (or guesses) that she married Donald Stover c1925, Max Gunzburg c1935, Leland Rantz c1948 - but no proof of any of them. I suppose the dates are deduced from the chhildren's birth dates.
It says her supposed marriage to Charles Tull was on "date unknown", which will be because they had no chldren.

If it were my search, I would be happy to assume that she never married.

It's interesting that there is no record of any of her "husbands" marrying anyone else either.

Ok ArgyllGran, thank you for all the information, and your time, very helpful as usual, much appreciated. I was just looking at Family Search which leads you in to Find a Grave, it was all very informative, has changed a lot since I last looked at it. Seemed to be very good for the USA records.
