Well no electoral rolls were taken during ww2

Any forces records won’t be online , they have to be applied for by a next of kin I think

Deaths though will show on the cwgc site including civilian

BMD,s though will show on free bmd as usual

He married during the war.
Perhaps his marriage cert mentions his forces unit and rank.

Alan Hare
in the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index, 1916-2005
Name: Alan Hare
Registration Date: Jul 1944
[Aug 1944]
[Sep 1944]
Registration Quarter: Jul-Aug-Sep
Registration District: Amounderness

Or perhaps you already know what his role was during the war - in which case apply for his records as advised above.

His records will cost £30.00 and take many months to arrive. Even in non-Covid times they take months.

You don’t have to be NoK, but you may be asked to provide a copy death cert
