can you look up adoption on genes reunited
My mum had a daughter and my mums sister adopted her
This was around 1945

You can’t ‘look up’ adoption anywhere online thank goodness! Much too sensitive an issue.

If you know the sisters name then what is the query

No one can look at adoption records other than an adoptee if they apply for their file

Surely if the adoption was within the family then other relatives must have information about the girl.

Is it that you just wanted to see the adoption record for yourself? As already stated, you can't do that. If you are not in contact with her then you could add yourself to the Adoption Contact Register and if she happens to do the same you could be put in touch with each other.

I would doubt that this was a formal, legal adoption. I don't think it would have been allowed
