Thank you yes I did. I knew the surname was local but never thought of Gamlingay which is quite near Biggleswade. I know the Rutt family so I might have a word and see if they have anything more than normal records.

Mystery solved his name was Terah not Lerah and he was born 1899 in Gamlingay .
Many thanks for your time and effort I will now see what else I can find out about him

Yes that is her and her daughter with a William Bennett who could be a relation of my mystery man. I am trying to check the Biggleswade Bennetts as they are a well known family in the town and may give a clue to mystery man.

Can anyone solve this one please.

I have a marriage of Mabel Alice Pates to Lerah Bennett, Q4 1929, Caxton Cambs.

Ref 3B 1152.

I have Mabel before her marriage but Lerah???Bennett does not seem to exist I have tried all combinations of his name and found a Laurie Bennett (Cambs) but that is not him as his wife was Alice Gawthorpe
