hi wonder if any one knows the money value in today's money of £1,800 in 1962.

According to this website it would have been just over £99.

£99 in 1962 would be worth £1797.19 today.
£100 in 1962 would be worth £1815.34 today.

Oops, no, I've done it the wrong way round.

Going by that website's calculation, £1800 in 1962 would be worth £32676.13 today.

(But that doesn't agree with ErikaH's figures below.)

And another website says £1 in 1962 would be worth £14.30 today, which means £1800 would be worth £25740 today

It really depends on whether you just want an equivalent amount in cash or whether you want the price of a house or a particular item. That would also depend on where in the country you live.

We bought our house in 1969 and paid £2,650 for it (a three bedroomed end of terrace with large (ish) garden. Today it is worth around £100,000. We live in the north east. However down south things would be very different.
