So I think Robert Preston died before 1906 when Lillian Pearson Preston was born

In Warrington for baptism of George late 1901 but doesn't mean they were there 1901 census time.

As Dad was a soldier he/they could have been away with his Regiment (Boer War was happening)

Initially the years married says 3 and children born says 5 with 4 living and 1 died by 1911.

Robert was born 27th January 1877 in Pendleton Lancashire and married Jane Green 22nd May 1897

Robert Preston - 20, Soldier, Bachelor, Orford Barracks Jane Green - 19, Spinster, 25, Chorley St. Groom's Father: Joseph Preston, Blacksmith Bride's Father: Peter Green, Labourer Witness: James Tomlinson; Eliza Dunn Married by Banns

Orford Barracks are in Warrington Lancashire

They had 3 children all born in warrington Lancashire

I have no death for Robert Preston but his wife remarried in 1908 to Robert Pearson and they had 5 children

I think its strange that the last child with the surname of Preston was Lilian Pearson Preston I was wondering if Jane was pregnant with Lilian and Robert Preston had died because there is only mention of Jane on the baptism . So perhaps Robert Pearson was the father but they weren't married
