I am back again on the Duncan trail.
I have a James Crocket Gibson Duncan born illegitimate to Mary Ann Duncan on the 13th June 1894 at Nursery Lane, River Street Brechin.(I have his birth certificate)
He was in the Black Watch (I have these details)
I found him aged 38 years with a Elizabeth ( wife ? can not find a marriage on Scotlands People) on board the "Strathnaver coming to Fremantle in Western Australia.
I also found them on the Western Australia 1943 Electrol Roll living at Middleton Beach Albany he was a casual worker,I have not be able to find any further information on them from there
I did find another James & Elizabeth with their deaths on Karrakatta Cemetery but this is not them.
Many thanks for any further information

Hi Ellen
The 'West Aus State Library' (on-line) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service.
They will check electoral rolls (past & present) and see when/where he went 'missing'. (also see about 'Elizabeth' too).
('GR' records show James Duncan dep UK on 'Strathnaver' to Fremantle 1933)

You could 'Ask a Librarian' to check for their newspaper death notices.

Not that 1922 marriage to Elizabeth Stewart Duncan.

I've had a look at the image on SP - wrong parents for James.(Alexander Duncan and Jane Duncan mms King).

Also, I'm sorry to say, I don't think Jean Millicent is necessarily with them in 1943.
Her address is given as Middleton Road, whereas James and Elizabeth are at Middleton Beach.

Anyway, she's born in Australia, 1922, so not a daughter.

They could have married on board ship.

Also, OP is only surmising that Elizabeth was his wife

The arrival record (which we know you have already, Ellen):

James Crocket G Duncan
in the Fremantle, Western Australia, Passenger Lists, 1897-1963
Name: James Crocket G Duncan
Departure Place: London, United Kingdom
Arrival Date: 28 Feb 1933
Arrival Place: Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
Vessel: Strathnaver

Travelling with Elizabeth.

And another version:

James C G Duncan
in the Fremantle, Western Australia, Passenger Lists, 1897-1963
Name: James C G Duncan
Gender: Male
Birth Date: abt 1894
Departure Place: London, United Kingdom
Arrival Date: 28 Feb 1932
Arrival Place: Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia
Age on Arrival: 38
Vessel: Strathnaver

Elizabeth's occupation is "home duties" and she and James are both listed as married.
But of course they may just have said so.

The date of 1932 on that second record is a clerical error on page 1 of the original document. Page 2 has 1933.
