A much delayed thank you to you all ( I could't remember which message board I'd used). I appreciate the trouble you took, Maddie and Kathleen. It's the father of Luce Lewis in whom I'm interested- just can't find him and I can't understand where the name of John Lewis came from. I had spent the day looking at the parish registers, and it looks as if I was in a rush when I took the notes - probably the place was closing. Just another loose end. |

Although the transcription of the baptism on 26th April 1795 says Morgan Ace - on the image it is actually for Margaret Ace, daughter of Samuel and Luce. |

This baptism would seem a more likely year of birth for someone marrying in 1793:- |

The image is on Findmypast. I wouldn't expect a father's name to be on any marriage record from that time. |

Does anyone have access to the original (ie not Bishop's Transcripts) register for Oxwich? I am looking for a marriage 11 Feb 1793 between Samuel ACE and Luce LEWIS. I took note of the details many years ago, but I think I'm missing something. I believe the full name of Luce Lewis's father was recorded as John Lewis, but it's not on any of the on-line databases which I believe are all based on BTs. |
