Thanks Potty. So "He" just meant He was a labourer and nothing to do with where he came from.etc. I have also just noticed that the marriage said he was a sojourner, Which I understands means he is from somewhere else. Now all I have to do is find out where. Thomas is such a common name finding his birth place is going to be difficult especially as I do not know exactly when he was born.

Looking again at the information I Have been given. If the age at death is correct then it is looking likely that the baptism in Wiveliscombe is looking good.

Looking at some of the other transcriptions, He would appear to be indicating his status or occupation, in his case lab

Yes I think you are correct with the deaths of Thomas and Hannah.

That baptism in 1769 looks possible. the other three would make him older than Hannah not younger.

I think I shall send for the death certificates and see what ages they give. At least then they should hopefully confirm they are the correct people.

Thank malyon for that information. I know they married in Comb Florey and then moved to Huish Champflower. they had children in both places.

Normally when a person get married they state if he is not from that parish. I can't find a birth for Thomas in Comb Florey so he must have come from somewhere else and possibly was living in Comb Florey at time of marriage. I was hoping that the He was a clue as to where he came from.

Thomas seems to be younger than Hannah by at least 5-10 years.

Thanks for that 1841 it is looking good for Thomas and Hannah. They had a child called Sarah born 1802 in Huish champfower. Its just a shame it doesn't give a place of birth for Thomas.
