Can't find a marriage for Robert Abbott & Jane Milburn. Are you sure of her name?

There's Charles between Samuel & Jane Ann.

As for the gap between Jane Ann & Mary, Jane would be pushing 40 at the time so probably not as fertile as she was in her younger days.

As Jane was born in c1828then she was 42 in 1871 so hardly likely to have many more children after then

Have you checked the 1881 census to see tha age of the youngest child :-)
