Jacqueline, I am well aware that family search is not the same as freecen and I did not say you were confused. I was referring to the fact that I had added my edit at the beginning of my post instead of the end.

Thanks everyone. Jacqueline, I had added an amendment to my post that I had found her on FreeCen (see above) but thank you all anyway. Perhaps I should have added it after my post and not at the beginning. Sorry for the confusion.

You could have found her yourself in 1871...it's FREE - in full - on familysearch site

On the census posted above Robert Bell is actually described as Father-in-law rather than Father.

JUST FOUND HER ON FREECEN - THANKS

Hello, Mary Jane is at Staindrop, Co Durham. Both her parents, Nicholas and Martha died 1868 and 1861 respectively. Mary Jane was born 1858. In 1861 she is with her grandmother Jane Morton who died 1864. Could you tell me who Mary Jane is living with in 1871. Thank you.
