Find Ancestors

At long last I have managed to find Dorothy and husband Samuel in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. From the birth of two more children, Elizabeth 1841 and Ann 1844 it would seem that the family arrived by 1841. Dorothy dies in 1864 and Samuel in 1875. Once again familysearch.org has proved very helpful.

Thanks for the information. Was hoping to find the family on the 1841 but cannot see them on 1841 or later.

My guess for the birth of Samual is the one on familysearch.org in 1796 at Welton with Melton as the parents are Joseph and Ann. Across country it is not so far from Cherry Burton and Leven.

Will have a look at the original in Beverley Archives for the death of Dorothy the next time I visit. It just seems strange that the whole family seems to have disappeared.

Perhaps they emigrated.................

BTW, Cherry Burton comes under Beverley

Have found the birth, marriage, 1825, Leven, and birth of 4 children to Dorothy and husband Samual Stephenson. Ann, Leven, 1825, the rest in Cherry Burton, George Bays Stephenson, 1827, Joseph, 1829 and Jane, 1832.

Cannot find them any of them after this. Dorothy was the sister of my partner's g.gt.gt. grandmother Jane Bayes who married William Horsley in Cherry Burton in 1821.

Would appreciate any help in finding out what happened to Dorothy and her family.
