Hi, I am looking for any information about Robert Davidson and his wife Isabella 39years who appear in the 1901 Census as 41 and 39 years respectively. Living in the manse.An internet article shows that in 1908 he was member of the golf club. But i am at a loss to where he went after that.

The July and August 1909 monthly medals were won by Rev Robert Davidson.

The annual meeting was held in the reading room in February 1911. The treasurer and secretary submitted his annual report. From the report the club the club seemed to be in a sound way financially. Officers for the year were appointed as follows; Hon. Presidents, Sir John Dewar, Bart and Sheriff Campbell, Portree; president, Mr A Gillanders; vice-president, Hon Clifford Kitson; captain, Mr A M Murchison; vice-captain, Mr J A Cameron; secretary and treasurer, Mr J J Maclean; committee - Rev Robert Davidson, A D Mudie, W J Robertson, R Kemp, A Ross and J Lees.

Thanks Ann, The Golf Club info links in with what i have so far, however i think his mother was a Catherine Watson. I should have put more info on the original thread

He is still the Minister in Portree in 1911 census.

CALL TO A PORTREE MINISTER

THE REV. R DAVIDSON FOR WIGTOWNSHIRE
On Thursday a special meeting of the United Presbytery of Skye was held to moderate in a call to the Rev Robert Davidson, Adam Memorial United Free Church, Portree, from the St. John's congregation, Whithorn, Wigtownshire. Mr. Davidson, having expressed his willingness to accept the call, the moderator placed it in his hands.
Mr. Davidson has laboured in Portree for 23 years, and has been noted for his attention to the poor of all denominations when in sickness and trouble. His departure is regretted by all classes of the community.
