Stuart, thank you again.
I haven't located David or Sarah in 1901 either, maybe it's a good idea to find out ages when they died aand witnesses etc. :-)

I'm not yet convinced that David & Gwenllian are correct parents. In 1851 their son David was only 17 then! It would make him 19 at marriage to Sarah not 24. Similarly he would have been 14yrs marrying Ann Daniel!

Think I need to come forward in time and sideways to check sibling births if my William David as well as David and Sarah's deaths, before I try to go back further.

Will keep you posted. Diolch :-S

"Yaki da" is about the limit of my Welsh I'm afraid! (Smiley emoticon, but haven't worked out how to get them in the text)

Here's the death I didn't post last night - apologies. Not at all certain about it as haven't tracked him down in 1901 for sure. Your 1891 has them in the Merthyr Tydfil RD. There is a death that would fit Sarah in 1892 aged 65 in the Merthyr RD

David's year of birth varied by 3 years through 1861-1881 census. I wonder - if it is the correct David in 1841/1851 whether he had to AGE for a 1853 wedding. Sarah shows as 3 years older than him in 1861 - if he was born 1834, there would have been an 8 year difference??

If this is his death it shows his age as 70 so b 1834/5 - info as known to whoever registered the death

Stuart
Thank you.
So that would tie in with the two marriages I found for David.
But I'm still not sure how to verify if my David is the son of David & Gwenllian Samuel.

Stuart
I saw that and wondered if Charles' mother (David 1st wife) was ill or had died and that Charles was being 'nursed' by family members/friends. Is that what Nursing Son means? One of the David's younger siblings was named Rees - so, which could have been another family name!

greyghost Report 6 Jul 2013 21:09

Don't know whether this helps or hinders. The only Charles Samuel shown on the 1851 census, but he can't be the Rees' son. Is he grandson, or can anyone make any more sense of his "occupation" ?
