parents. Notef she wasn't on the 1911 Census but was born in 1890 so may well
have left home by then.

There is an unsourced tree on ancestry has an Ethel McMaster (no parents given) as born 21 Oct 1891 in St Helen's, Lancs. Apparently married a James Ewart b 1882 Glasgow.

Have sent Lyn the marriage certificate for Ethel and James Ewart (had spare credits for Scotland's People that would expire before I used them).

Ethel names her parents as Agnes McMaster and John McMaster, a bottle packer. I suspect she may have been trying to cover up illegitimacy.

She was living Glasgow.
