Thanks a lot Chris, all the children were christened at St. Nicholas so I think there's a good chance that those two deaths are my Abraham and Catherine. Also ties in with the fact that I haven't been able to find the children living together as a family in any census.
Looks like the last child William might have died an infant too..
I am descended from Catherine b. 1808 who married in Coventry so possibly they moved there.
Thank you also Vera, I have come to the same conclusions. It looks like Abraham is going to be untraceable without any idea of where he was born even though now I have an approximate date for his birth.

I would think more than likely the children have not been transcribed. I have looked for a death for a Catherine Matthews between 1796 when James was born and 1806 when Maria was born but nothing showing.
I agree that the Abraham Matthews/Elizabeth Harrison likely to be a different family and there are large gaps in their production of children also
Couldn't find a birth for Abraham in Kenilworth although there is a one that fits for the Abraham above in Bedworth..

Thank you Ann, I had all that information about the children from familysearch. I saw the Bedworth family, I don't think it is the same one, though more than likely related. The Bedworth Abraham is still alive in 1841 with wife Elizabeth and hasn't moved from Bedworth. Vera, your finding of Abraham a widower remarrying in 1821 is interesting, this one could well be the same man. Doesn't solve the mystery of the unaccounted-for ten year gap though :-(
Thank you both

An addition to Ann's post for the same children found on Warwickshire Parish Records is that Abraham is a Weaver.
The only children I can find between James 1796 and Maria in 1806 are born to another couple
Abraham and Elizabeth 3 children Ann bap 1803 aged 9 years in Bedworth, Mary bap 1803 aged 6 Bedworth and Elizabeth bap 1803 aged 3 years Bedworth. So that makes Ann born 1794 which doesn't fit with James' birth.
There is another child born in 1822, Sarah. Parents Abraham and Mary. Abraham is a Weaver.
There is a marriage for Abraham Matthews to Mary Grainger on the 16/04/1821 at Kenilworth. Abraham is a Widower. Witnesses Joseph and Elizabeth Matthews.

Could someone be kind enough to help with my 5xgreat grandparents in Kenilworth, please. Abraham Matthews and Catherine Scrivener married in Berkswell on 25th May 1795. She was from Berkswell, I haven't been able to find a baptism record for Abraham yet except for one in 1766 whch I don't think is the right man. First child James born in Kenilworth in 1796. Then there is a ten-year gap until another lot of children born: Maria 1806 Catherine 1808 Ann 1810 John 1812 William 1814 all born in Kenilworth (source, familysearch).
Now it's just not reasonable to think that there was a ten year gap between the first and second children. So the possibilities seem to be 1 - Catherine Scrivener died and Abraham married again - to another Catherine. I can't find another marriage for him or the death of a Catherine Matthews in Kenilworth. 2 - They left the area and later returned. 3 - There were more children but the baptism records are not transcribed on familysearch. 4 - There were two Abraham Matthews both married to Catherines in Kenilworth (not very likely). Hoping that the Warks. parish records may throw some light on the subject, all assistance gratefully received. Thanks Beverley
Edit - I have to get off now but will check in in the morning, thank you Beverley
