that's beginning to fit together quite nicely

as there is no birth for an Elizabeth mmn Gaynor in 1851/52 I wonder if the Elizabeth on the 1861 census is actually Ann/Hannah. Mary Ann died as an infant

there is a tree on ancestry which has these children linked to the Roscow family (though they do have them down as born in Ireland when the census data says Wigan)

this is the 1861 they have, living in Wigan

Eleanor T Horner 31 - widowed maufacturer of cordials born Ireland
Elizabeth Horner 9
John Horner 5
Eleanor T Horner 3

children born Wigan

lancashireAnn Report 22 Feb 2013 16:55

I wonder if Hannah (Ann on most census) is this one born in 1851 - only guessing from the name of the child born in 1858 which seems to be the same as Ann's mother

With this information just rang my aunty Mary who is my only senior relative now around

She remembers thinks when prompted

She says Ann was her great grandma and was from Ireland and had a bad limp

Safc listed she had a disability

She also said Orange Men came to collect her husbands body Robert Coyle when he died

I have now learned so much today, thank you so much for helping to fill in my history

lancashireAnn Report 22 Feb 2013 16:20

Ann always seems to be born in Wigan not Ireland, but birth registration was not compulsory in the 1850's

Ellen varies with Ireland and Wigan - given name on marriage Eleanor Theresa irish descent sounds possible

not found John Horner

David

David Report 22 Feb 2013 16:01

Sorry about the essay, point taken.

So Ann, Ellen and John Horner born Ireland and thats why I did not find

Thank you for advice and information
