Hello all,

I'm wondering if there is any connection between one part of my Ball family from the Midlands and Elizabeth Ball, the interesting and mysterious grandmother of Charles Dickens - I have a writer brother who would (not surprisingly!) love to find a connection!!

I know only that she lived from 1745-1824 and was a housekeeper at Tong Castle near Albrighton, not far from Wolverhampton (where some of my Ball family lived) before marriage to William Dickens (his second wife) at the age of 36 years.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Nicky.
