Perhaps Thomas Jenkins was married and so they couldn't marry this is what happened to my grandparents.

I did see that death record but as you say with no further initials etc hard to be sure

If she had been married before then she may not have married as Miss Daley but in the married name...but her maiden name would still have been Daley on the 1936 birth certificate.any second names for her or Thomas would have been a help for you.

There don't appear to be any marriage/deaths for Kathleen or May Daley in the Cardiff area. IF correct person, then looks like she never married.

Yes I too thought that was the marriage................until I got the birth certificate :-(

The birth in 1936 was in Swansea, but there are other Jenkins/Daley births in Cardiff in 1927 and 1932, so marriage could be in mid-1920's?

Was DALEY definitely the woman's maiden name? Or could she have been married before?
