I am looking for information on my family. Alexander Feight was born in Bavaria or Biern Germany sometime around 1815 to 1825? His wife Catherine was also born in the same area about the same time. They were married in Germany and thier first son was born in Bavaria around 1849. Thier second son was born in Ohio(USA) in1850. Other spellings may be Faith,Faeth, Feth,Feith,Faeth or possibly other spellings. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just to rectify 1870 census states Thomas was born :-

name: Thomas Faith
estimated birth year: 1849
gender: Male
age in 1870: 21y
color (white, black, mulatto, chinese, indian): White
birthplace: Bi*
home in 1870: Ohio, United States

.................same as his parents were and not Ohio.

Hi Betty, Are you sure the surname started as Feight. I am only interested because I have been searching for a John Foight for many years c.1772. Unfortunatly
he died before 1851 Census gave birthplace in U.K. 1841 Census says "Foreign Parts".
You may have given me a clue where to look as I suspect he came from Germany.
I also cannot find his marriage in U.K. but am sure it is in U.K. The name is also spelt Foit.

This sounds like my family, however Thomas was born in Germany according to the records I have.I would like to have a birth record or something that confirms this.. I am looking for a confirmation that they were married in Germany. Do you know where I could find out for sure.I would also like to find out Cautherine's maiden name as I don't have that information. I'm also trying to find out when they came to America and what ship they sailed on. Any information would be extremely helpful. Thanks..Flo
