Find Ancestors

Hi, can anybody help me to find my gt gt grandfather William John Green, i have him in 1911 Buller St Abersychan Monmouthshire with dau Dorothy Maud (gt gran) & his wife Edith Maud (smith), he is in same area in 1901 problem i have is finding his birth in both census his birth is 1882 only 1 says lancashire other says warwickshire. I have his marriage cert William John Green 20 yrs coal miner, Club Row Abersychan father John (deceased) baker & grocer wed Edith Maud Smith 20 yrs Mill Road Pontnewynydd father Charles (deceased) coal miner wed 22-12-1900 Pontypool would be most grateful of any help to find him in 1891 many thanks Carol

Thanks for the replys all your help is very much appreciated, Gins i don't think the prescot birth for 1884 is right as that would only make him 16 when he married & the marriage cert says he is 20

Marriages and census info is not reliable, in relation to ages

You really can't research your family without certificates. I think Jan and I have done the best we can to pin point his birth

......it's up to you now, to buy a certificate, to find the correct birth....or, just follow a wrong 'line'

Thanks Gins, really appreciate all the help from you & Jan. I didn't mean to dismiss your suggestion but out of all the marriage certs i have bought the ages have been pretty accurate, thanks once again
