Would appreciate someone looking up the following for me at Ancestry.com.

I would like the exact date of the marriage of Denis Colclough to Anna Hughey at St. Johnstone Presbyterian Church, Co. Donegal, Eire. The marriage occured in the last quarter of 1943.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Eline

It does not give that info

Registration district: Donegal
Volume: 2
Page: 17 (click to see others on page)
FHL Film Number: 101579

This database contains details extracted from the published indexes of Irish marriage registers. Details provided include

•name

You can use the information in the index entry to obtain a copy of the entry in the original register from the General Register Office.

Thats kind of you to look it up. I would have thought they could have given more information than that to a member.

Its the equivalent to the GRO index for England and Wales which you can find on this site or Freebmd.

As with those, you have to purchase the certificate to view the details.

Since you know where they married, have you tried contacting the Church if it still exists and asking if they will look up on the PR?

Alternatively, someone with knowledge on how to order Irish BMD may be able to give you the link. Don't buy it via Ancestry; they add on their profit and get it from the government department as could you.

Ancestry are not the holders of the records......they merely offer transcriptions of the official GRO indices.

To get further detail, you will have to pay..............
