Thanks for your look up you did for me. I am researching the Freemen of Nottingham and through it came across Barnsdall who was twice Sheriff in the 1800s so I went from there to find more out about him and what occupation he had etc, although now I know there is another Nathaniel, his son born 1802 who did not appear to go into civic work

Many thanks for all your help, it appears now that it is Nathaniel's (who was born 1802) father is the one I need as he was sheriff of Nottingham in 1818/19 and 1829/30.

I think it unlikely in the extreme that this man held such a high office in 1829/30........too young

His Father may have done so............
