The Medal and pension records are the only ones showing on ancestry ......... and it is probable that they are the only ones you are going to find.

ancestry carries all the WW1 records that are available for the servicemen ............... and unfortunately only about 30% of them survived WW2. Most of teh ones that have survived are damaged and / or incomplete.

Your grandfather was a bit of a naughty boy! :-D

On his pension record is noted the fact that he missed the 7 am Lecture on 10-11-19 ............ and was sentenced to do "Two Extra Drills"

He apparently enlisted on 27-8-1917 ......... he was just turned 18

I'm using the GenesR military records to search for my grandfather Herman Pike No 20652. I wonder why there isn't a WW1 category? Using the 'All' I don't get a result? Any advice please.

Thanks

Jon
