Could sks let me have the details from the 1901 census of the following;

Jane Johns. age 43 b.Bromley
Henry Johns age 14 b.Soho Wesdtminster.

I believe Jane was a live in house keeper at St Giles in the Field London..
Is Jane calling herself wife or widow.??
Her husband Henry Johns born 1858 is not with her. He states on various occasions as being born in Alderney C.I. or Soho London.

I can find a Henry Johns but his parents are George and Janet

Do you have any reference for Jane and Henry on the 1901 please Dud? or were you just asking as you had seen the 1891 census?

If I look at the 1901 census listing on Genes, I can find Henry b.1887 as being born in Soho and living in Bloomsbury.

How have you got back to Henry & Jane? They are obviously 2 different families - one Henry with Jane & father Henry in 1891, the other Henry with parents George & Janet. Here is that family in 1911.

I may have found Henry senior in 1901 as living in Aldershot (transcribed as Henry John) aged 50 born Soho.

But where is Jane??

I think the connection in 1901 betwwen another Johns family (George and Janet) is not the same family. Unless they brought up young Henry as there own.

I can't see where the 1901 information has come from, tried on here, ancestry and FMP but no Jane Johns of that age anywhere other than in Cornwall. The only Henry I can see is the one with parents George & Janet.

I see Agnes died in 1893, but can't find the others in 1901 or 1911.

Piece 88 Folio 51 Page 10.

Henry Johns married Jane Garard December 20 th 1885 and they had Henry James in 1886 ( Westminster 1a 609). Agnes Johns (mother) died 1893.

I cannot find this family after this census. It is possible that Henry (Snr) turns up in Aldershot on the 1901 census as a bootmaker, (transcribed as Henry John) There he says he is 50 , a bit out of true, but the entry was possibly completed by his employer, with whom he lodged and who took a guess at his age.. He also states he was born in Soho.

There is a George and Janet Johns with a son call Henry on the 1901 census but this is not the same family. There son was christened Henry Charles and was born 1897 Soho. Westminster

I can find no 1901 census for Jane nor little Henry and also cannot find any recorded deaths.

What do I do now? Any suggestions appreciated.
