Hi I'm trying to find out information on the above my husbands grandfather, any help would be appreciated.
We believe he was born in St Asaph, he died in Crewe but was buried we think in St Asaph and his Father was a farmer in Penmenauwr but have no names of his parents or brothers or sisters etc.

Have you used Freebmd? This shows his mother's maiden name was Evans, assuming this is your relative. His birth cert will tell you her name:

Births Mar 1916 (>99%)
Jones David T M Ellis St. Asaph 11b 497

Re. Freebmd, this is the first place to look for BMD's in England and Wales 1837-1955ish.

You can search for Jones/Evans marriages, but the names are so common that there are dozens of possibilities in St. Asaph!! Not to mention elsewhere. So the birth cert might be a must.

Thank you for your replies Jan, He married Myfanwy but they split up after the war. I will look at the BMD link and see what I can find.
