Please would someone check outgoing passenger lists from UK....probably to South Africa and see if birthdates are listed for a Mary Dorothy ( surname unknown) born on 14 December 1909.
No marriage has been found, but possibly was in South Africa ??

In 1957 she travelled from South Africa with her husband Sidney William BELCHAMBER ( previously a widower) to visit an address in Manchester and the above birthdate is on the document. This same birthdate is shown when her death was registered in that area in 1981.
Death of Sidney not found. He was born 1890.

I know her death certificate might show a previous married name or maiden name, but this is not a close link, so we are hoping there may be another way.

Was his first marriage in 1923 to Simone

Did she die in 1950 ?

Simone Jeanne Suzanne Belchamber of 8 Link Lane, Wallington (wife of Sidney William Belchamber) died at St Helier Hospital, Carshalton. Probate to Sidney William Belchamber, retired bank official, Douglas Foster Belchamber, civil servant and Joseph Kohn Burchett Rutter, solicitor.

Yes... That is the correct match.

Thank you for the probate information. They are all family members.

So it seems there should be a marriage somewhere between 1950 and 1957....

Tree on Ancestry has Sidney William Belchamber dying on 16th May 1968 at Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa

Her PLACE of birth will also be on her death cert

The trouble is that if she was South African, births overseas are usually just logged by country on death certificates and not actual place.

I believe we have already been in contact with the tree owners and they don't know details of the 2nd marriage.
