anyone know how adoption records can be searched? my grandfather was adopted as a youngster and wanted to look into that side of my family? |

you'll have to find out his birth name first. when was he born? was the adoption official or informal? |

thanks, im not sure if it was offical or not it would have been around 1922-1926 im not sure if he was born the name we knew him of and i dont know if there is a way to find out? |

Pretty sure Official adoptions did not start until 1927,so there is not likely to be any paperwork for him if he was adopted before then. |

What name did you know him by? Have you checked to see if there is a birth for that name in the birth index for when you think he was born? Do you know what his birth date was? |
