Due to some useful information supplied by ***alviegal*** :-D

I would like some help, if possible in finding a marriage, which I now believe took place in South Africa, The bride's name is ....

Edith Grace Maggs Groom possibly Thomas Clark Chalmers

The marriage would have been after 1901

Also is it possible to check for births?

If anyone knows of any sites I can look myself, I'd be happy to do so.

Thanks

:-D

For info about ANY website for anything...............google

As this obviously relates to a previous post, it would have been better to update that one

I always google first Reggie, then after that I ask, as often a person from that Country offers there knowledge. I have been researching my tree for over 30 years, 10 on here, so hope I know what works best :-D

My other post was for two queries, which I first thought were Australian. This post is for one that I now know is South African, hence my second post.

Hi Lynda,
Glad to see that another member found the SA deaths.
I remember this from a few months ago and recall that Edith Grace was mentioned on her sister's obituary in Australia. ( a post relating to the sister)
It confirmed that Edith Grace's married name was Chalmers and that she lived in SA.

I think we looked at UK, US and Australia but could not locate a marriage to a Mr Chalmers.

Perhaps someone on here knows how to locate SA records as I have only ever "stumbled" upon deaths on the following site:

Good Luck
Anne

Thanks Anne, it was you and others who helped me re Edith and her sisters, I asked for one lot of help and got lots :-D

Edith and her family are ancestors I keep going back to, for some reason they intrigue me a lot more than the other 2,000 in my tree, maybe because they travelled so much, which must of been so difficult back then.
I have found more about there families, and am working my way forward to hopefully find family alive, and could tell a tale or two, like I have with Edith's half sisters family.

Thanks for the link, I will have a look, and see what I can find.

Thanks again for your help in the past too, I really appreciate it :-D
