my great grandfather born 1872 in lancashire-at least thats what the census says, was jewish and changed his surname before marrying. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to trace his relations. |

His name in 1895 was william lee jackson, born 1872 barrow, lancashire. He married elizabeth (either sayers or wicks) in 1895. In 1901 He lived with his wife and 2 daughters Selina and Rachel at 2 Handslip Terrace, south shields.He was a machinist at south shields marine works. |

How do I go about getting a copy of his marriage certificate. When my mum was alive she told me that he had changed his surname, we don't know why.the surname Lee had something to do with it as apparently one of his sons was so annoyed about it, he changed his surname from Jackson to lee. |
