can anyone tell me if an innocent party of a Bigamous marriage -- would anything
be written about it on their next marriage cert. ???

this was in the late 1930's early 1940's dos'nt appear in the
National Archives list's

If their first marriage hadn't been legal, then they would be classed as single.

This is all that should appear on their next marriage certificate.

Unless they didn't want anyone to know that they'd been living with/having children with a man they weren't actually married to. In which case they may chose to say widowed or divorced.

Legally, any victim of bigamy is still single, and should be described as bachelor or spinster.

A divorced person, however, is not legally 'single'.........and any subsequent marriage cert should state 'previous marriage dissolved'.......or some such phrase......... in the 'status' column

What are you trying to prove?

trying to see if there would have been any use full info on a remarriage

I did think that there may not have been -- but thought I would ask for opinions.
