I have come to a complete stop. I am searching for my uncle's military record. He was born in 1902 Sheffield and he is shown in an unnamed and undated photo as a signaler with two good conduct stripes. He did reach the rank of lance corporal during his service. I have tried to search on the military records but failed most miserably. Can any one out there guide me as to where I should go next? He may have been in one of the Yorkshire, mid wars, regiments.
Please help
Brian

If his service was after 1920 ish, then there is nothing in the public domain, these records are still held by the MOD.To obtain these records you have to be NOK or have permission from which has to be proven
And will cost £30-00
Go to to this link it explains all.

Thanks Alan on the Wirral,
All help is appreciated but unfortunately in this case the photos of Uncle Len were posted by me. I have tried contacting the East Yorks but they have chosen to ignore my request for info. I have tried Military records I have even written to Kentigern House in Glasgow. But I still come up blank every time.
I will keep trying. Someone somewhere must know him.
Thanks again
Brian on Wirral (New Brighton)
