Reggie. Thank you so much for all this information about Brian's Family. He was lead to believe that his Father had gone away to sea as a Chef and had not come back presumed dead.
It is such a pity that he did not know this information. As for his Grandmother who brought him up, we only knew her as Nanna Abbot.t I was never told what her name was but something at the back of my head is leaning towards Gladys.
She died around 1972 or 1973. and she lived in Widnes. I have so much information now that it will keep me busy for a few weeks to come. Once again thank you so much for your help.

What was Brian's grandmother's name? When was she born? When did she die?

REGGIE thank you for your help. I know where his Mother was born because Brian was my first Husband who died, His Mother had died before I met Brian and I am going off information that he had been given by his Grandmother who brought him up.
GLITTERBABY and REGGIE thank you for the info about his Mothers marriage I have been searching around Widnes as this is where she came from and Brian believed that she was married from there not in Norfolk.

REGGIE thank you once again for his Mothers date of death this is 6 years later than I thought it was. Now that I have some concrete iformation I will do as you say and order one of her Marriage certificates.

Born 23rd March 1944 - Brian Russell Arthur Morter died 21 March 1981 his mother Jean Abbott of Prescot Lancashire Birth about 1922 or 1924. His father I think was Russell Arthur Morter was a Chef. his Mother remarried someone named Conner from Cheshire they had a son named Christopher. his mother died roughly about 1955. His gran named Abbott lived in Widnes. I cannot find his mothers or Fathers birth. Can anyone help please.
