I know that Jim Atha married a Maria.
But as there is a bride missing can't be sure whether Maria Holroyd married George or Jim.

Still confused though.

So Holroyd was not the name she was born with then ?
I'm assuming Maria was not married before as her mother is also Holroyd.

If Mother Caroline re-married and changed Maria's name , wonder why the younger children kept Littlewood ?

Martha, John & Walter are in the workhouse in 1851...

Wrong way round !
Caroline didn't remarry, she was Holroyd to start with.
Threw me because she is Mother Holroyd on Maria's marriage ( probably to coincide with Maria )

It was the Holroyd that threw me.

Unusual that Maria named her mother ( albeit wrong name) on her marriage cert instead of her father.
