They were married Co Durham, and I believe Lawrence was born in that area also.

I think you need to order a marriage cert. to find out the details.

on Ancestry it doesn't give all the details unless it is a parish record.

Thanks for your help and advice, but assume you have found same details I already found. That is why I came on here asking for help with his parents details.
I was hoping someone with access to one of the sites that gives those details would be able to help me. I used to have access, but dont at present.

Will send birth details for Lawrence and possible marriage for his parents by pm as these people could still be living.

You can't see the details on a marriage certificate from this period online.

EDIT:- just noticed that you say you have been given his parents names in the past. They are the same as I found.

If you are sure about who he married then his marriage certificate should name his father.

I know my Lawrence is no longer living Kathleen and if I have the correct parents for him, they are also no longer living.
Kathleen are you related to the Ellen Bell that married Robert Bradley? I knew Ellen many years ago, a lovely lady.

Find the man's birth.....then look for the marriage of his parents........and work back from there

If you wish to confirm that the parents you have already named are correct, buy Lawrence's marriage cert............his father will be named on it

You can't see the details of certs without paying for them

The one born to Chapman/Forster had an older brother ( at least). Does this fit with your knowledge of the family?
