Hi Vicci,
Thanks for all your help on this. I would never have found Albert and Rebecca living under the name of Sandy in 1911 if it wasn't for you. It must be them, all the other details are correct. I did have a copy of the 1921 census, but for some reason, didn't realise that Rebecca was there with him, or didn't record it correctly, so missed the significance of the fact that they were still together. I have a copy of Nellie's birth certificate (she was my grandmother) and I had found her on the 1901 census, which led me to her mother's name being Mann, although I have not been able to find a birth certificate for her. I am wondering if her real name was Elizabeth, because I have found Rebecca Mann on the 1881 census, living at 88 Duckett Street (Albert lived at 124 Duckett Street in 1881). There is no mention of her daughter Rebecca, but there is a Elizabeth, who would have been born at about the same time. JannieAnnie had found Rebecca Mann in 1911 in West Ham and also her grandson, Robert, Nellie's brother was also in West Ham at a school. I wonder why they sent Robert away to school, but not his sisters.
