Why not post the details here and we might be able to confirm your findings?

I would go with my own research Alan.

You are obviously an experienced researcher and want your tree based on the facts that you have collected. If these people that have ignored the fact that the ancestor states Toronto / Canada as place of birth on every census, then they are probably just "name gatherers".

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of emails as I would suspect that they have lost interest now if you had been sharing your research with them - they probably have everything that they wanted from you and don't want you "nit picking" at the incorrect information that they have accrued!

Ignore anyone's research except your own...........especially those whose trees are on Ancestry.

Perhaps you would post the details on here...........just for us to have a look.

Sometimes those who are not involved can see some little thing which gives a pointer

Any ideas or thoughts on the following would be much appreciated:

One of my ancestors appears on the 1841-1901 census. Apart from the 1841 where no place of birth is recorded, she is always listed as being born in Toronto or Toronto Canada. There are several individulas on Ancestry researching her yet ALL of them have ignored this and have traced the line through a person born in the UK and the same yr who just happens to have the same father's first name.

The annoying thing is that I have asked them for info as to why they believe this person to be the correct individual and stating as well that I am open to suggestions as I am not infallable. Strange thing is that until I asked the question, emails were going strong but now nothing.

My question is I suppose is: should I accept their research as 'fact'? In all of the 40 yrs of research, I have never come accross this before.
