ancestry also have transcriptions and images for some West Yorkshire parish records, which may be what rootgather was using on your previous thread. |

The original parish records might well have witness names and these can sometimes be useful in establishing family links, if they are unusual. |

On a post of mine from last night, details of a marriage was given (1851) including the fathers name and even the witnesses. I dont know where the poster (Rootgather) got this info from. I have a marriage from familysearch for John Appleby to Margaret Bradley at Hornby by Bedale, 5 February 1799. Is anyone able to provide the same details as above or is this marriage too early for those kind of details? Thanks. |
