Find Ancestors

James Davies (possibly actually of Llandovery) and Jane Parry are my great great grandparents.
James' father was Thomas Davies, who was married to Margaret (Thomas?) Thomas Davies died March 21st 1857 and Margaret 21st March 1878.

James can be seen on 1851 census as a servant to farmer John Davies of Eryd Farm Cilycwm but here does not apear to be a relationship. Around this time there were over 138 Davies' in Cilycwm!
James also appears on the 1841 census (age 10) and is described as a farm labourer. it is not thought that JAmes had any siblings

Jane Parry was a sister to John Parry, who was 12 months younger than her. Her father was possibly William Parry who was married to Susan (Owen?) though the Parry's are proving hard to track down

james wife jane had a brother john parry have that family have john on 1851census as visitor of david and jane davies cilycwm trying to join up this family tie james was also from cilycwm

Did Thomas' name come from James' marriage cert ?

No telling if Thomas was his natural father or stepfather.
Any idea who Thomas was married to ?
Who was the informant on Thomas' death cert ?

no his fathers date is wrong have not found him on census have jane and family trying to trace davies side

Your dates don't add up.

james davies born1832 cilycwm camarthenshire father thomas born abt 1820

So Thomas was only 12 when his son James was born ????

Hello Pamela - because of the huge numbers of people with that name you'll need to give some further info - e.g. did James marry? If so, what was his and his father's occupations on the marriage certificate? Where was he living?

Have you found him on any census? If so, where and when.

You're saying James was born c1832 and his father c1820 - was his father really only 12 when James was born?
