Find Ancestors

Please can you help find Mary Ann McDonell born 1877 in Battersea.Mary Ann Jarvis married George William McDonnell(1876 Bermondsey) in Battersea in 1895.These two had five children before George died in 1904.Mary Ann went on to have a further five children all bearing her dead husband's surname.
I have tried to find the family in both 1901 and 1911 without success.I know from a birth certificate that Mary Ann was living in Linford St.Battersea in 1912 and Electoral Lists show she was still in Battersea in 1933.

Maybe William wasn't free to marry her so it was just easier to register the births under her married name?
