Military Records Help

Can anyone help? I've reached a brick wall, mainly because I know my late grandfather was in WW2 in the Army Runs Corp, or possibly and/or the Parachute Regiment, and maybe at Arnhem, yet he does not show anywhere in the military records even though I have his date of birth and date of death. My great grandfather was also in the 2nd Battalion Cheshire Regiment WW1, and I can't find him either! Does anyone know the best plac/site to look for military records?

There are some military records from WW1 on Findmypast - however a lot of WW1 records were destroyed so you may not find what you are looking for.

WW2 records are still with the MOD and so not online. Check here to find out how to access them:-

Any WW1 records which have survived.......only 30% of the total.............are on Ancestry

Your grandfather's next of kin can apply for his WW2 records, at the site whose details are posted above......they cost £30.00
