Find Ancestors

I ordered my gt Uncle Christopher Lewis death certificate to try to find out more information he died Joyce Green Hospital Dartford Nov 1972 and the name of informant was a Florence Rose Lewis living same address as him. The thing is his wife was named Alice Lewis (nee Banbery) So I am now wondering who this woman was? They only had one child that I know of and her name was Ellen Margaret Lewis. I wondered if Alice had died and he had remarried but I cannot find a marriage for them can anyone help as I am stuck on this side of the family and any clue may help my progress thanks!!

Sorry to ask the obvious! I assume no relationship was given?

No the only reason I ordered it was to see if informant was his daughter and to get her married name. I have since discovered she stayed in Wolverhampton and never moved to Dartford. I have put message in paper it went in on Friday to trace her children & grandchildren but no joy yet! I did not expect another Lewis I did not know to pop up on certificate. LOL!

I see from an Ancestry tree that he was born in Ireland. I suppose she might have been visiting. Was his wife already dead by this time?
Have you checked out the electoral register to see how long she was living there and if there was anybody else there who might offer a clue?

Can you look at Electoral Registers from 1972? Its something I never thought of?
None of the family stayed in Ireland his parents and brothers and sister all moved to Wolverhampton which is where his father was from. Is there a website where I can check out info you used gave me? Thanks

You can look at the registers in person, or ask for a member of staff to check - there may be a charge.
Registers are usually kept at nearest main library to the address. London electoral registers are online, but not sure if as late as 1972? I don't have high enough Ancestry membership to check personally.

I cannot find a death for Alice but it is a common name if she did die then maybe he did not wed Florence maybe they just lived together? I just wish they had put down on death certificate the relationship between Christopher & Florence!
