I hope someone can help me with this? I am looking for information about my Grandfather's second wife. His name was Albert Victor Jones, and her name was Nellie Watson. They were married in the Apr-Jun period of 1956. I am trying to find out if Watson was Nellie's maiden name or if it was her surname from a previous marraige. If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated. |

by 1956 if Nellie had been married before against Albert it would probably have indicated spouse Watson or nnnnn |

There is a birth for Nellie Watson in Sheffield, which would fit in with the marriage as being in her maiden name. |

Thankyou LancashireAnn and patchem for your replies.I have looked at the original entry and it doe's not say spouse or nnnnn. Unfortunatly she is not alive so I will try to get a copy of the marraige certificate which hopefully will have her fathers name on it. |

Hello Michael - did they have any children? If so, then their birth registration should show her maiden name and not a previously married name. |

The only way its to get the marriage cert . No one can tell you info unless they knew the couple ,which is probably unlikely |
