Hi can anybody help me find information on the above, she was adopted in 1933
I have birth certificate showing her mother as being a Dorothy Parnell living at 1 St Clements view in Truro Cornwall. Is their anyway i can find out who lived at this address in 1925,

Yes, by checking the Electoral Roll in the appropriate main public library

Was the mother shown to have an occupation?

Did the mother register the birth?

Many thanks for your reply, I think my best bet is the Electoral roll. As there are a few Dorothy Parnells in the area, I need to find out her date of birth, in order to find her parents.

The ER does not give anyone's age.......all you can be sure of is that anyone on it was eligible to vote, and in 1925 universal suffrage was not in force

1918: The United Kingdom gives a full vote to women of age 30 and older and men age 21 and older.
1918 Women in Britain vote in a General Election for the first time on 14 December.

1928: The United Kingdom grants equal voting rights to women.
