Thanks Linda

He's not listed - But I think even though the diocese was Cheshire, the county he died in was Lancashire

Just for reference Louise...

Cheshire Records Office have an online database for searching wills within the county...the last will I ordered cost about £5 and was delivered within a few days.

Thank you for clearing that up for me
I was hoping it would give me some extra info to work on, but I guess I'll have to try another route :-)

Letters of Administration are granted when full Probate of a Will is not required.

All it means is the the person/people named has/have been given authority to deal with the estate of the deceased - in accordance with the terms of the Will.

In other words.....he/she/they is/are the executor(s)

There isn't anything to see.............

It isn't anything to do with 'claiming'

Hello

I've just been searching the "Cheshire Wills and Probate - Transcripts" on FindMyPast and found the record of an Admon being granted - though I'm a little puzzled by it all

Is there anyway of finding out more info about the admon? Or is the small paragraph all that would have been recorded?

Also is there a minimum age required to be able to receive Letters of Administration? Or even period of time to claim?
