There is some confusion about family head Edward Goff b 1846. That is the correct dob. He used it when he married a margaret evans. At the time he kept a shop in kinnerley. This marriage has only just become known. He later married a Sarah Brayne and gave his dob as 1855 . He married Margaret in 1864 and Sarah apparently in 1905 at the age 59years and had 6 children with her! One of them being my mother in law. He had a successful shop which still exists in Kinnerley but went on to become a farmer as most of them were. But suddenly the details of virtually all the family have disappeared.. I have traced 2 children who were staying at Grandfather Braynes house at the time of the census. This suggest the rest of the family did not fill in a census form for some reason. There is a suggestion they fell on hard times due to gambling debts but the only evidence I have found is a Goff in the workhouse which may be family. |

Edward Goff appears to be born 1855 not 1846, unless 1911 census is wrong. |

Thank you for your replies. They have been helpful. In particular I am trying to find out information from the period 1911 to 1946 which family members have asked me to research as they cannot find out any details of what happened to the family. They were landowners at the time but for some unknown reason the lands etc were lost. I did find information about Goffs being in the workhouse at this time but need to confirm they are the same family. Any further advice would be good but thanks for the info so far. |

Could you be a little bit more specific as to what information you have, and who and when you are looking for more information? |
