There were a lot of John Heinen's born Minnesota around that time. This one's father was "Bens" a farmer on the marriage

Mary, it would have helped enormously if you'd given that info in the first place! :-)

Have you looked on Scotlands People for a marriage?
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

I was in a good mood and used one credit to get this:
2 1917 HEINEN JOHN MCALLISTER SARAH BELL PLANTATION GLASGOW CITY/LANARK 644/20 0116

If you want to see all the details then you need to register and buy some credits.

EDIT: I must be daft but I've sent Mary the image. Couldn't help peeking after I'd done the search!

She was Sarah Bell McAllister, spinster age 38. Grocery manageress.
He was John Heinen, bachelor also 38. A farmer and also private in 15th Canadian Reserve Brigade. Normally resided Saskatoon, Canada.

Thank you for all replies.
The reason I did not put in any country is because I don't know in which one they were married.
She sailed under the married name of Heinen. Sarah was from Scotland, she was my great aunt.John did die Minneapolis and Sarah then travelled to New Zealand, where she died in 1948.I don't think they had any children but you never know!
Anymore info. would be great and thanks again.

Why do people think it unnecessary to give location info when asking for others to help them?

Neither of them appear to be in Mary's tree, and no-one appears to have any John Heinen's around that age.

If this refers to England/Wales.....look for a record on freebmd

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

Very easy site to use.

If it isn't England/Wales............where do you think it might have been?

How did you get back to them? What leads you to think they married?

Hello Mary - whereabouts in the world did they come from?

Did they have any children? If so - who, where and when?

Can anyone help me locate a marriage certificate for Sarah and John? They were both born around 1879.
Many thanks.
