born august 1924 ,married june 1945 cant find death. married patrick james hegarty her maiden name was hedley

Are you sure she married a "Patrick" J Hegarty??

This is only Hegarty/Hedley marriage i can see registerd in 1945.

???

Do you know for certain that she is indeed dead?

Online death records for England and Wales only extend to 2005 so if she has died and it was after 2005 then that could explain why you have been unable to find a record.

If born in 1924 and still alive she would only be 88 which today is not regarded as being particularly unusual.

Researching:
Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.
