You could order his birth cert, using the details provided by Astra, for names of both parents

Of corse it would, didn't think of that. I will have to ask my Nanna if she still has her marriage certificate, but unfortunately she hasn't been very helpful as she can't remember a lot.

Do you have his marriage cert Alison? That would at least give his father's name.

Hello. I need help finding my Grandfathers parents.
My Grandfathers name was Frederick W Martin, he was born in 1924 in the british army. We know he was born in India, maybe Nowgong. He married my Grandmother in Ipswich, Suffolk, England in 1950. I cannot find his parents anywhere, so have come to a bit of a dead end. Any help would be much appreciated.
